I think that this book is on an interesting topic and is very informative. Unfortunately, I think the writing style of the author needs work. I felt that some of the words and transitions that the author used were clunky and in need of revision.
Putting that aside, though, it is a very original, good book.

This is a very interesting, informative book about women in the 1920s -- the "flappers". Even though this book is a work of nonfiction, I found it a very enticing and easy read. I especially liked some of the anecdotes that are included in this book about Zelda Fitzgerald.
I hadn't realized just what an important impact Margaret Sanger had on our history and current lives until I decided to write a paper on her. For my paper, I read this book, and I am so glad I did -- from reading Sanger's own words about her life and her mission, I feel that I have connected with a very powerful, amazing woman.
Hmm... I'm not sure what to say about this book. I can't really tell if I liked it better than the last book. I have a few small picky comments to make, such as the fact that I noticed that this book seemed to be poorly edited (lots of common typos), but that's not a reflection on the caliber of the story.
I think I can't really say much until I read the rest of the series (which I plan to do). I will say that so far this entire series seems to be about misunderstandings and poor communication. All of the characters are constantly misunderstanding each others' intentions, moods, actions, etc. It gets a little frustrating for me, as a reader.

This book was assigned in one of my classes, and the professor had not yet read the book herself, so none of us knew what we were getting into before reading this book. We all thought it would be an interesting topic, and were excited to begin reading it, but once we actually did, we all kind of regretted wasting precious minutes of our lives on this.
First, I will say that the authors did obviously spend a lot of time researching for this book. My problem is not that there is a lack of facts. The problem that I, and the rest of my class (including the professor), had was that the authors can't seem to figure out if they're writing an informative, factual account or a work of historical fiction. They keep changing between discussing factual events and saying things like "And then Sara turned off the light and went to bed and thought about what had happened to her that day" (Not an actual quote -- just paraphrasing). This may be what happens when two authors collaborate but don't tie their individual work together very well. Either way, the book was very tough to read because of this. I would have liked more factual information, and less fluff and irrelevant topics.

This is a really good book. It gives a vivid portrayal of Maoist China, and the effects of the Cultural Revolution. The ending is a little strange and mysterious, but that is the only semi-negative thing that I can say about this book. It's a really short, easy read, so I recommend it to everyone!
