A lovely rom-com in a fantasy-esque setting. It took me a little bit to wrap my brain around the world in the world-building, but once there it all came together nicely, with loveable characters in a cozy, medium stakes novel that I'm glad I put on my list!

I don't often enjoy scifi, but this was incredibly well done, with excellent world building. I sometimes couldn't quite remember how the characters we ebb and flow through are connected since there are quite a few of them, but overall this is really well done and I think I'll be picking up the sequel.

This was a light read, but sometimes I felt the plot points were a little to on the nose and the characters sometimes felt a little underdeveloped. There's definitely some thought into the world building and, if you also want some witchy romance that isn't too spicy, this might be a good fit.

A feminist reimagining of Arthurian legend, told from the point of view of Morgan Le Fay; this was a perfectly fine read but I didn't find it spectacular. I would have liked to see more complexity when it came to the characters, particularly the male characters, because I think it would have added more depth and nuance to the story. Instead, it mostly just felt predictable to me.

This book was fine but it didn't wow me; it felt a little bit sometimes like throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what stuck, only what stuck was popular YA premises past (like Hunger Games and Twilight, complete with the obligatory love triangle). If you're looking for more fantasy elements in your dystopia, this might be a good fit for you.

This book hurt my heart in the best of ways; if I had to sum it up, I'd say the books is about navigating grief, and boy, did I feel it. Beautifully done.

I devoured this book in a day; it has excellent world-building, lovable characters, a bit of intrigue and sets up for one of my weaknesses: found family. I feel like it achieved what it was setting out to do so it's five stars from me!

The characters were likeable and the story line interesting, but I also felt there wasn't much growth and I feel like this first book didn't quite establish solidly that the "chosen one" part, as well as some other pieces, which, had this been done more strongly, might have carried me through with more interest in the next book than I am left with. Still, there is some good world building and the storyline flows easily enough, so not a total loss, just not more than a solid middle for me.
