Loved it. Finished it in 2 days, could've been one had I not started at the end of the first lol.
I wouldn't go say it's a well written book. Most of the popular books of that era wasn't, but that's fine. I still wanted a good ending... Wym Snow died from natural causes? that ending rattled me. another complain would be how I don't like single pov (petty reason really, but being in Katniss's head was a pain half of the times) and the fact Katniss's indecisive issues was given me IBS. Also, I don't like the fact all these ppl died. Some was simply meaningless deaths specially on her crew. Poor Finnick and Annie, poor Peeta's family. Oh, and Prim of course. All this, for her to die at the end. It just so happened that y/a books made during 2010 and 2018 had a death swipe fashion about them that I never appreciated.
Much slower in pace compared to the first one, but that's good. Give characters some more depth, except for the fact it's only in one person's view, which gets boring pretty fast.
The one ray of sunshine was Peeta's existence in the majority of the book, but for the next one... well, at least it's the final book. A good ending should awaits, more or less Katniss's a complex character on herself, and is interesting to follow along, but on her own with the rebellion and political matters? Sigh, hope Finnick could carry my spirit
A great book, but maybe I'd have liked it better if it wasn't all from Katniss's pov. And as someone who watched the movies first, damn, Peeta really did do so much more in the books.
This have been on my tbr since FOREVER. Not in a bad way, but in a "I know I'll like this so I better leave it for later" way lol. I was right, I did like it.
-This should be called "the 100 times Jenna danced with death" by the sheer amounts of times my girl was tittaring close to heaven. -Though I did hope she learned more about her magic in this book, it didn't take away much on my love for her character development and her strong personality. -I loved the family moments in this, I liked them enough to mourn them with her, which is more than I can say I do for most of books with the same 'kill off their family' trope. I'm also very pleased thay Ren survived. Not every mc need to be completely orphaned -the romance was very cute, though Enzo could've used more action. Had a pov or something so I could've understood what was in his head & actually belive he was doing something.
I liked the story, the plot, the promise of it. I liked the characters development, the 2 girls bounding moments, and the way Phoebe changed her life around...
But damn, those conversations felt so UNNATURAL🗣! To be fair, sometimes they made good conversations, but the other times they just made me cringe. Also, there's only so much of the word 'says' I can read before it becomes my soul focus point.
I enjoyed this book so very much, I finished it in 2 sitting. Amira is a boss, and Daindreth is such a cutie, I love them and every moment they even came close to each others😔💕 The plot was plotting, and the ending was promising. I honestly didn't have much expectations for the book, but decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! I love the writing, and those fancy words lol. The relationships between the characters is also something that I adore. I'm not only reading for the main couple, I want them to have families and friends, so this was right up my alley.
My one problem with the book was how FAST things seem to develop between the two. Not to say I wasn't locking in and entertained, but like... you just met yesterday? Now you're so in love, you'd die for each other? Ok, good. Good. I'm sure the next book shall be even better, looking forward to that.
