Read this after I found out this was the "inspiration" for "The Handmaiden", and wow, some very very heavy inspiration had happened to make them so similar. I have found The Last Mrs Parrish to be far superior. It's better written, the plot is more engaging and the characters seem a lot more real. Not to mention that the parts that were completely unbelievable and the actions and plot twists feel earned, though not predictable. This was an amazing read that got me interested in the rest of the author's works.
