A Promised Land by Barack Obama

I might not agree with Obama on a lot of issues, decisions, and policies, but reading this book, you just have to respect the man. His honest account of his presidency from his point of view is very refreshing, and you can't deny his intentions seemed to always be good, even as he made decisions that might prove unhelpful or unpopular. Also, reading this book about how decisions were made and how considerate of the public good (at least from his point of view) he was while making those decisions, you can't ignore how his successor approaches the presidency and you can't help but compare and contrast. Any way you look at it, this man was a decent human who wanted to do what was in the public interest as he saw it and as advised by his qualified counselors, can't help but respect him.

This book was so captivating, yet so unsettling. Some of the imagery is still stuck in my head, even months after I'd finished it, it's pretty terrifying, but you can't stop listening. The whole production was incredible too, Kat Dennings was AMAZING, I really don't think anyone could have done a better job. Overall, it scared me so much but I still loved it.
