Interesting listening, covering a wide range of topics in the cult-ish realm. Didn't really do a deep dive into any one area. The common thread through all of the groups covered are the unique language they use and people in positions of power. This could really be extrapolated to almost any organization: doctors and lawyers, for example, use an incredible amount of jargon and acronyms, there is a huge "buy-in" financially and time wise in the form of medical school and law school, and the further you make your way into it, the more power you can get. There will always be people in every group who take advantage of this power. I think taking the word "cult" far enough to cover fitness studios and scammy MLMs takes away from the traumatic experience of cult survivors and their families.
