They fuck like every chapter in the “after” how the hell did she not get pregnant?!

I would have given it 4 stars but the whole “my teenage wife” thing *shivers (not the good kind)* in my head she was mid 20s because they thought of a 6 year old falling in love with anyone over 20 and then later marrying them…. Does not work for me.

It would have easily been 5 stars without the minor miscommunication/misinterpretation of her and her sister…. Note to self always ask if they have a twin.

Short and sweet. I enjoyed this. I do wish it was a longer one though.

Anna and Nic just didn’t work for me. Sophia was adorable

I think the whole story was a bit off. Very insta love like literally day 1 they meet for 2 seconds then day 2 she’s slammed against a wall being kissed before meeting his daughter…

There really wasn’t much going on conflict wise or action wise. Anna was kidnapped for like 0.5 seconds and then everything was back to normal again

Also he is obsessed with getting her pregnant and talking about how her belly will grow and then the epilogue doesn’t have anything an her being pregnant or the kid being born because it was so focused on leading to the next book. That’s one of the things I hate about interconnected stand alones.

3.5⭐️ spoilers ahead probably
I think most of the reviews saying the fmc cries a lot and is throwing pity parties funny because what the fuck would you be doing if you randomly kiss a guy at a bar and then wake up in a bed of flowers where you immediately start throwing people around with wind and lighting shit on fire? Oh and then getting told that you killed your best friend. And that everyone hates you. That you’re forced to attend an academy with literally no one you know in a world you don’t understand. Personally I’d freak the hell out multiple times too. Probably try to run away (ya know JUST like she did)

Anyway, I liked the book I think it could be an interesting story. I think there’s a lot happening in such a short time with how short the book is. I get bad vibes from Elana - for probably no reason? - but I just don’t trust her. She trained her mom and she is super powerful yet only has one element or whatever… yeah idk seems sketchy to me. I will probably continue the series just to get some answers. I think the 3 girls are bitches but not 100% responsible. Never did. Though they could use a good reality check lol

Also the cover is so bad.

I expected more honestly. There was really no plot to the book. The whole sleazy boss storyline and jealous coworker turned psycho was weird to me… didn’t really make sense. Plus the ending with the news from her friend… wtf? I feel like this book should have been longer and it would have been a lot better. I wish there were more interactions with her and his brothers too because they are funny.

Genuinely though some of the stuff that happened make no sense. The whole masquerade dinner? What was the point.

I liked it didn’t love it. I will read book 2 but will I finish it? Who knows. It bothered me how the “bonds” form and also how nobody seems to know wtf they are… I don’t like that. I want them to know and be like “omg my mate” type shit. Not “um what’s this weird vibe I have around this person”

Now. There were a few things that bothered me.
How did she go from not seeing her reflection and saying she was going to have a rat nest for hair to then like the next day being able to see herself?
Why was her dad still with her mom after she left?
What’s up with the girl she is “friends” with? Do we actually like her idk.
What’s with the fucking orb and why does it randomly disappear?
