Gosh, can I dislike Dumbledore even more? Yes, I certainly can. Is it me, or his comments on each of the stories are somewhat idiotic for a professor with so much knowledge, power, and recognition? Leaving everywhere footnotes "such as myself" and boasting in his glory. Calling himself a muggle-lover and for the hundredth time antagonizing all Malfoys and reciting their correspondence like an immature and infantile man, yet he still managed to leave a comment like this:
"This is certainly typical of a particular type of Muggle thinking: in their ignorance, they are prepared to accept all sorts of impossibilities about magic, including the proposition that Babbitty has turned herself into a tree that can still think and talk." The story was about the dumb muggle king, but what possessed him to generalize and assign his stupidity to all muggles really baffles me.

Some of the comments are not only dumb but concerning: "...It was rumoured, however, that she actually discovered him in the act of fondling some Horklumps, which she found deeply shocking."
And the footnote: "Horklumps are pink, bristly mushroom-like creatures. It is very difficult to see why anyone would want to fondle them." Excuse me? This is for children, right?

We see how once again Hogwarts is super dangerous for children being surrounded by careless teachers who did not blink an eye as one of their colleagues used Aschwinders as decoration for a play that ended up injuring a lot of pupils and staff.

Okay, I am done with venting. The stories themselves are not so bad, my favorite being "The Fountain of Fair Fortune" and of course "The Tale of Three Brothers". But my overall impression is that it was mostly a fast, money-grabbing, and quite a poor attempt by JK at fan service. All of the stories have less relevancy and moronic comments just to fill the space of the book, while the main story about Deathly Hallows which is featured in the canon series is paid more attention to and is the only one that has adequate and interesting commentary by Dumbledore about the wand lore. But this story was already written word by word in the DH book, so did we truly need this one?
