Idk man. I've been reading a lot of throwaway romances to take my mind off of our burning planet and this was a solid three stars. It was a fun read and not badly written, but the last quarter or so felt like I was reading fanfic based on the first three.

I get why people liked this but it was difficult to get through. Guess I'm picky about my romances but Simon was, overall, a Real Weird Guy. If some dude was extra standoffish toward me and then suddenly acting like he wanted to fuck because he put on a pirate costume and adopted a pseudonym I'd call the cops on him
