This was a slow burn, but the romantic suspense had me hanging by the edge of my seat in anticipation. I think this gives off similar vibes (not the same story mind you) as PenPal. I really enjoyed the suspense. The duet narration was amazing. I can't say much more because spoilers, but I loved every second of it. Definitely a unique storyline.

I love Hades and Persephone retellings, and I loved the main premises of this plot. However, I felt a lack of time spent outside of the bedroom after their first initial encounter so although smutty, I didn't really connect with their relationship. I want to try a couple more from the series, but I wasn't as excited about this one as I thought I would be.

I won't pretend that the first half of the book that I didn't come really close to DNFing it. It was a little cheesy at first and the writing seemed simple I guess? But Rowe and his big primal self grew on me. He was doting, sweet, and protective. I kind of love the whole language barrier trope. This was kind of a new venture for me, and I guess I had to warm up to it, but in the end I really liked it. Nice change of pace.

I'll be honest and say I almost DNF'd it at the beginning. I was lacking the excitement and suspense I was feeling from book one, but the second half of the book unfolded so many new mysteries and questions that I was hanging on to every word. Also was excited to finally see a little bit of progress and some of the mystery unfold between the couple.

This FMC is forever going to hold a special place in my heart. There's a scene early on in the book where Boner is in the van with Blue and he tells her he saw a girl fighting with everything she had to survive and tells her he wants her to know she's worth having a whole family at her back giving her the world and making promises they always plan on keeping, and I lost it. This FMC is curvy, sassy, fun, vulnerable, has blue hair, and is fighting with everything she has to break the bonds of her past and pave a new way for herself. Everything about this book was just beautiful to me. I will accept zero criticism. The found family trope excelled here, and seeing all the other couples and members of the mc is what makes mc romance ones of my favorite tropes when done well. The MMC is heads over heels for this woman and does so many unbelievably beautiful things for her. The audiobook narration for a duel style narration was phenomenal as well! I just can't get enough.

I think book one and book four are my favorite! I was surprised that this couple beat out Priest's story, but I ate it up. I love that these books are dark romance done in duet style narration because it's a sought after and hard to find narration. The audiobook was phenomenal. I loved this couple, I love the suspense plot related around her daughter. Her dad is a d!ck and why is all dark romance parents practically @ss holes? Anywhooo that's a rant for another day, but I'm loving this mafia series by Eva.

The way I am in love with everything about this book. I'll be honest and say I was judging a book by it's cover and it just screamed a little too... cutesy for me?... *LMAO* WRONG! This book is an extremely dark bul!y romance that had me on the edge of my seat screaming demanding these two get their happily ever after. I was full on panicking at one point. This is such a hard earned happily ever after which made me root for these two that much harder. The spice was phenomenal, the story line was refreshing and new, and the man is possessive as he!l. Did I mention she's an MMA fighter?

I loved the beginning and the end of this book and I'm obsessed with the concept of this duet as a whole. I did find a smidge of it a bit repetitive in the middle section, but the ending was what breathed life back into it. My heart was pounding during the hunt scene. I was so happy to see them get their happily ever after.

I really enjoyed the concept of this book. It was new and refreshing. I also loved the characters / development. The banter was top tier, which I totally expect from these two. The FMC was strong and sassy. Overall, I had a great time, but I will say the relationship with Seven took forever to develop and then once he was on board the ending felt rushed a smidge. I think there wasn't a clear end to the plot other then solidifying their relationships which is why it kind of felt this. I still enjoyed the read and had a great time though. Definitely unique which I appreciate.

I literally read this in one day. I love this series so much, and although I love all of A.L. Jackson's books, this series is turning out to be one I am constantly thinking about. The suspense and the plot twists are hitting every single time. I will say friends to lovers isn't my favorite trope in the world, but these two as characters have my whole heart and soul. I just loved the relationship and character development, and I think they might be a new favorite couple for me. The cliff hanger at the end? Can I have book three now?!?! Also the narration was phenomenal! Desiree has been scratching some kind of itch for me recently because her performance has been spot on, and Connor really dove head first into the roll of Otto. I just know this whole series is going to be a hit, and I can't wait to see them in a big box store alongside their counterpart, Redemption Hills.
