There are no words that can fully express my pain and grief after finishing this book. This is the knife that I turn inside myself. I love it. I wish there would be more literature like this. I really do.

There are two types of people: the ones who dislike Pechorin and all his thoughts and actions, thinking he's cruel and egoistic; and the ones who are in urgent need of therapy & do relate to him. I'm the second type. Read the warnings if you must and give it a chance. Remember it is a depiction of a time, and a hero of this time. He is a superfluous man. This is his downfall story.
