Even though I bought this book I still thought it was too childish for me. I was so WRONG! No doubt its about an eleven year old spoilt girl, it teaches lessons adults need to learn too.
And this book reminds me of my school. Sigh. Good old times they were. Okay I loved this book and I am NOT an eleven year old.

SHIT!! This book gave me the creeps. My first experience with the Christopher Pike books was incredibly horror. Read Whisper of Death only a little while ago. The aspects that I find not-very-good are that this book is for freakin thirteen year olds when I've found this book pretty scary for adults keeping in my mind the reviews of some of the readers, AND the fact this book is based on some not-so-thirteenish elements like rape and getting banged by her own "future" father makes me feel sick. Some book for growing-up kids, huh? Another element which I found very confusing was the end and how Betty Sue was their kid and how she slept with her own father. Well it took me some time to sort that mess out after I reread it. On the whole, whisper of death really really freaked me out and I finished my copy of the book in a day despite my busy college schedule. The most tragic scenes for me were the deaths of Stan and Pepper even though I didn't quite like pepper the way he screwed two girls in a month, still that conversation between Roxanne and Pepper during the time when he was impaled and was taking his last breaths was heartbreaking enough for a girl like me. Christopher Pike has his own unique way of telling a story and yes, you can fall into the character and feel the emotions yourself.
