An intriguing concept but the execution is hard to enjoy.
Besides the deliberately obscure narrative structure, the description of objects within Ama's scenes was often both baroque and irrelevant. The author seemed to delude himself into valuing his own clumsy, petty symbolism.
Ana's diary was a saving grace of sorts. His portrayal of Ana's cognitive processes and her relationship with Beatriz, for instance, was quite nice to read. Very human.
