Great book.

I couldn't put it down, but the blatant misogyny and ableism was a turn off even though it was used as an effective plot device.

Monster by Walter Dean Myers

Good book that tells the tragic story of children who grow up in the ghettos, surrounded by crime and gang violence.

The closing arguments were about 10pgs too long, though. Otherwise, well worth a read.
