Now, it’s been quite a while since a book that is well into a series made me giggle from the first chapter! What a glorious start to book 4 before we are slammed back into the notorious Mafia world.

Seeing the 2 marvellously messed up male lead characters becoming even more … drool worthy and the 2 women becoming a lot more stronger was such a delight. The twists and turns had me guessing the entire way through. Very, very clever and in hindsight, the clues were all there. Yes, I got it wrong and what a whiplash of plot lines. JEM is clearer the master at this genre.

Some great giggles along the way. Honestly 💩 stories are always just a great giggle and the boys sure didn’t miss the boat on this one. Too funny.

I throughly enjoyed this book and eager to get to the final books. Many hints and clues into the final book plot are thrown into this story. Well done JEM,. This series has had me hooked and has simply got better and better with each story.

A clever multi character story that pulled book 1 and book 2 together into an intricate story web. Loved the use of characters for the chapters and the way this story wove the past stories into it. Bring Danny and James together is simply brilliant. 17 hours whipped by with this read.  I would not wait too long between book 1 and book 3 as I did, having to reach back into my memory of book 1 to put some things into place.

Yes, it ends on a cliff hanger, but seriously, how could it not. It’s a 5 book series folks and this was only book 3. Come on, The Bear is going to tougher than that to defeat. I honestly don’t think we’ve seen the end of some of the minor characters either. Also, keep an earwig out for the mention of the Title and Series Titles.  They seem to be subtly woven throughout.

Danny and Rose - ahhhh, one can only “hate them” immensely 😉.

Beau and James seemed to develop further in this book than the last and this pleased this humble reader. Beau becoming a stronger arc and James somewhat finding his softer romantic side. ❤️

I loved this instalment in The Unlawful Men Series and can’t wait to dive right into the next book. Bring on The Rising.

The narration out performed the story in this case. The plot was, in parts, not truly relatable. Nonetheless, it was a fun little ear bud read.

JEM has always stated that she only writes stories that she would want to read, and luckily I LOVE reading them too. Characters that resonate with her one could assume - and they are always extraordinary in my eyes. The Unlawful Men series are brutally gritty, a lot to handle, yet engrossing all the way.

Unlawful Men -The Enigma is definitely a read not to be taken lightly from the start. Two complex and broken characters that meld together into a read that is not for the feint of heart. While the 2 main characters develop a relationship, it is somewhat missing the chemistry of book #1. In saying that, there was a subtle nod to The Brit throughout but would not affect the read if book #1 is not read. However, one can see the series link when read consecutively. Some great twists and turns along the way, and most ready for the next book in the series.  Overall, I really did enjoy this one.

WARNING, don’t listen to this one unless you have read ALL the other books up to this point. It is definitely a FAN book - and I loved it.

This book is exactly what the title says - a compendium, delightfully comprehensive too. While we have snippets of the delightful and incomparable Miss Willa woven in between, don’t expect this book to be a full narrative piece. Personally, I would NOT recommend this as an audio read. I think as a physical book it would make more sense and would be a great companion to the full series reads.

The snippets of narrative that are given throughout are delightful and decadent. As a fan it did have me questioning a few plot twists that should come. I think this book was a brilliant idea to get the whole and complete stories of both the “Blood and Ash” and “Flesh and Fire” series into one book. A great review of an epic story. The “fan” can easily see how the books are interrelated. Also a fantastic idea to have those stories reviewed with the knowledge that more the story will continue well into the future. Bravo Miss Willa and JLA.

12 years in the making, this final book in the series is perfectly sitting on Central Jesse Cloud Nine. The epic love story of Jesse and Ava has come full circle with a this clever set of dual POV stories - the This Man series through to This Woman series.

Artfully told, this final story is not simply a rehash of the first series, but a story that fills in those all those missing elements. What a crazy ride and wonderful through Jesse’s mind!

The narration by Shane East is simple perfection and really bought this story to life.

The artful story telling woven by JEM is once again a masterclass lesson in how to write a dual POV. Thank you Lady for all your time and effort in bringing these wonderful characters to life for us mere morals.

Dual POV frenemies. A cute, fun rom-com.  Nate is adorable.

The story was somewhat lengthy in parts. Then rapidly finished with a quick bang. Tied up neatly in a little bow, but would have benefited from being fleshed out more in the conclusion and shortened in other areas.
