This writing is pure magic! “He wondered how many mundane things hid magic, or perhaps it was better to think of it as how much magic liked being married to the ordinary”. Roman and Iris forever ❤️

I was lovingly bullied into reading this. And NOT bad!

The Long Game

Elena Armas

DID NOT FINISH

I’ve never taken so long to finish a rom com. And this one was around soccer so I thought I’d love it but gosh it was sooo boring, sooo long, sooo blah. DNF at 63%.

In More Days at the Morisaki Bookshop we follow Takako and her uncle Satoru once more! This is such a cozy and atmospheric read. You really feel transported to the Jimbocho neighborhood when you read it. I have to say I was hesitant about this sequel since the first one ended on a perfect note in my opinion. But this time it is Takako who is there for her uncle. There were a lot of quiet and lovely lines and the tragedy that we learn about made me cry in real life. Such a heartwarming and charming read!

Let me start by saying that I don't regret reading this. Because I'm such a huge Ali Hazelwood fan. I've read everything she has published (except her novellas) and I have to say this is my least favorite book of hers. I think all her other books were five or four star reads for me but this......

I really appreciate the disclaimer she gives at the beginning about the different tone of this book. The whole time I was trying to like it. Because I have read and fully enjoyed other books where the physical relationship is the center of the book and the plot is barley there. But for some reason. This just didn't hit. I read this last week and can already feel myself forgetting plot lines, characters, scenes, etc. It just wasn't funny, wasn't romantic, wasn't good chemistry. Now I'm questioning my three star rating..... for Ali I'll leave it at three stars. And I'll be looking out for her next book.

I have a goal of reading all T. Kingfisher books and this!!! Perfection! Vibes, whimsy, creepy factor, fairytale but with a twist! Simple writing style yet also every word just adds to the T. Kingfisher vibes so perfectly! The mystery around this was so intriguing and Toadling. Gosh she has my heart. Say brambles and thorns out loud with feeling instantly transported to this world I dare you. Also, this is the perfect length for this story. You have to be okay with not getting a lot answers about the world and what not. That is not what the story is about, just jump in where the author places you and enjoy the ride.

Fun and creepy time! My first Stacy Willingham book. I was intrigued enough about this story to really want to know how it ends. I did not see the end coming at all too which is always nice! I also enjoy the FMC although yes she does some dumb things and is very paranoid, you still like her enough to empathize with her. I liked the flashbacks too and overall was a really good read!
