Totally get why people either absolutely love or absolutely hate reading this. It was clever of the author to keep it short, because I don't think I could have read this for 300 pages. That being said, I really enjoyed it. You hate the character, and you understand her a bit too, and doesn't everyone want to sleep for a year at this point?

I really enjoyed this one, including the game sequences which I thought were clever but well-balanced enough that it didn't take over the main plot of the novel. I wish there had been more character development in background, but this book does a lot of heavy lifting in a lot of areas, and does it well. The relationship between Sam and Sadie is really lovely, though I wish there had been more 3D work done on Sam's character. Overall, a beautiful debut that I would recommend to anyone wanting to read about relationships that aren't just romantic, and of course about video games.

I didn’t like thrillers until I read this one. Lots of great twists!

Just a brilliant, beautiful book. Full of queerness, in all it’s forms and definitions. I’ll be thinking of Owen for a long time.
