While I could appreciated the style and prose of the book, over half of the way in I could still not find a likable or interesting thing about any of the characters or their experiences. It seems that this was the groundwork for a lot of better pieces of literature that took what Kerouac had done and expanded it into a more engaging and meaningful text. I didn’t feel that Kerouac had any interest except talking about himself, and I’m almost certain he would be an insufferable person to talk to at a party.
