Go Forward Slowly by Whitney Cannon

I really wanted to love this. Stories that showcase romance for all body types are desperately needed and that was what I thought I would be getting with this book. It had an emphasis on "health" rather than body positivity that I felt took away from the message. The story was sweet but in desperate need of tension and plot. The text itself would flow much better with some further editing. How much communication can really be achieved with the chin? It seems like at least one character must nick their chin at another in every chapter. For me the characters were one dimensional and by the end I was ready to be rid of them. I also felt the graphic descriptions of arousal and sex acts were a bit much for what is labelled a YA romance.
What the author did do quite well is give good examples of accepting parents. I always give a thumbs up to queer YA novels that show teens thriving under love and acceptance. Not every coming out must end in horror.

"Some day, all the people would smile."
This was a beautiful novella about coming out and first love in the wake of the murder of Matthew Shephard. It was hopeful and realistic - a wonderful read.

Can't Get You Out of My Bed by Isla Olsen

When a book opens with someone vomitting on a dick you know you're in for a fun and wild ride. Not my favorite installment in the series, but it was still a good read! I always love spending time with the Kelly family.

I love angst, but by the end of this book the plot was being driven off a cliff.
Untamed Desire by Daniel Elijah Sanderfer

This story has potential and I think it is important to recognize that. That being said, I think the novella format rushes the story to the point of predictability. The dialogue was not believable, there was way too much telling and not enough showing. Further editing is needed to correct misused punctuation and help with the flow of the narrative. There is a solid base that unfortunately suffers from poor execution.
Whisper by Tal Bauer

Blown away by this book that is equal parts political thriller and romance. The m/m genre needs more stories like this! Officially my favorite Tal Bauer that I've read to date.
