Scythe by Neal Shusterman
3.0
3.5 stars. I enjoyed reading this book, though it was predictable and didn't have the wowzer moments or surprises I expect from 4- or 5-star reads. It seems like it would be a perfect read for a young adult as it touches on ethics and what it means to be fair and human.
Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett

What an excellent read. It took me about 30 pages to get into it and then I was hooked. This has made it into my top fantasy reads of all time. Highly recommend!
Amazons, Abolitionists, and Activists: A Graphic History of Women's Fight for Their Rights by Mikki Kendall
5.0
Highly recommend for adults if you're willing to learn new things, relearn things, and unlearn things. I'm going to have to reread this again sooner than later because each page, even in graphic novel form, had so much information I definitely didn't absorb it all, but hopefully seeds were planted. I hope to find some supplemental reading to this brilliant and needed book.
Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor
5.0
Laini Taylor has such a magical writing style and Khristine Hvam’s narration brought Laini’s world to life. I “read” this book after I read “Strange the Dreamer” and the sequel. Strange the Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares are in my all time favorites list, but Daughter of Smoke and Bone is definitely up there too. What a brilliant story, full of love, whimsy, complexity, magic and pain...Laini knows how to weave so many elements together artfully and beautifully. I can’t wait to read the sequel.
The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden
5.0
Now having completed the second book of the series, I feel like I can listen to Kathleen Gati read Katherine Arden's tales of Vasilisa to me for the rest of my life.
The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden

Perfection. What a beautiful trilogy with beautiful narration. Highly recommend this book and audiobook.
