thank you to tor for providing me with a copy of wolfsong!

first of all, i love the rebrand of the covers for this series. this book was up and down for me. when it was good, i couldn't put it down and ate it up. when things got slow, i found myself simply reading to get to the good parts that i knew were coming. i enjoyed most of the characters and i am a sucker for a found family (which every tj klune book seems to have and i eat it up).

Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read this book early! The back cover said it would be for lovers of Priory of the Orange Tree and the show Castlevania, and it did not disappoint on either of those fronts. I tore through this much faster than I usually do with big fantasy books. The world is as rich and interesting as Priory and the vampires are as fun and queer as in in Castlevania, along with some wonderful nods to the show that I appreciated (hello Breaker!). I loved this book, and I hope we get another story from this world!

thanks to the publisher for providing me with an arc of this book!

this book was good and i thoroughly enjoyed it, but it didn't floor me the way albert's previous book "our crooked hearts" did. the "goddess game" that is the basis of the supernatural plot is compelling and i found myself thinking about it when i put the book down and trying to figure out what it is. some of it is left a little vague at the end of the book, which i actually enjoyed, because the main characters don't really know how it works either.

overall, if you like ya horror/thriller, pick this one up.
