Yeah um my heart broke in this one too like Colleen Hoover really is the queen of breaking hearts and piecing back our fragile hearts together. I teared up at several points of this book and seeing the relationship between Kenna and Ledger's change and grow. Also the writing is beautiful as always.

I really like how the main focus of the story was on Jessie and her growth as she navigates and works on her life goals and a career and business that she loves. I can also relate to the whole comparing-asian-kids thing and i really like how it sets up the initial animosity between Daniel and Jessie. Overall, a very lighthearted and inspiring read.

I feel like Sarah Hogle just really enjoys putting her main characters in a secluded derelict house and I am HERE FOR IT HAHA!! Wesley is literally my dream man like the whole time I was just thinking he could not possibly get better BUT HE DOES?!? And seeing Maybell stand up for herself in her own way and fulfill her dreams by working hard with what she has, showing that bravery does not always have to come in loud actions but in taking steps towards a better future even when one is afraid. I also really appreciated the attention given to social anxiety and could really relate to some of Wesley's troubles with public settings and how its effects can trickle down in other areas such as with personal relationships. (also victor and violet's relationship was so heartwarming i can't- )

Overall, this is definitely a comfort read and I can foresee myself rereading this when life goes bad. In fact, I read this after a bad interview and omg some of the lines in this book had me cACKLING and laughing even as I fell asleep!!

I am a sucker for second chance romances and this book did not disappoint. Preeti and Daniel's relationship evolves and strengthens over time, with the both of them learning from their past mistakes that caused the end of their relationship and Preeti deciding to take a stand for herself because she is strong enough. She recognises that some events of the past were not her fault, but due to toxic family members and social circle, but she also recognises that she made mistakes and owns up to them, not letting herself fall into the same traps. Honestly, one of my favourite characters I love her so much!

Ok I feel like someone should say it but how sadistic does my boi Daniel have to be to build the dream house he designed with (or maybe even for) the love of his life even when his heart was broken by her literally 6 years ago!?! I genuinely can't imagine LIVING in a house I had envisioned with the love of my life without that person. IDK Daniel is another breed of yearning.

Anytime anyone mentions the Oulipo my brain goes yEET because of that one time I went down the rabbit hole researching Mathematical influences in Literature and reading that 'Cybernetics and Ghosts' essay by Italo Calvino.

The discourse and reflection on feminism was also really informative and gave me a lot to think about.

Len and Eliza's first kiss was so cute I can't-!!!
