A novella of ~75 pages to get you out of your reading slump (it worked for me) and get going.

The book revolves around the memories and experiences of the grandpa with his son and grandson. His brain is dying (indicating signs of dementia throughout the pages) and the author takes us into his make believe world of something similar to a memory palace. It explores the difference in his relationships with his son and grandson.

“But the universe gave you both Noah. He's the bridge between you. That's why we get the chance to spoil our grandchildren, because by doing that we're apologizing to our children.”

‘And Every Morning The Way Home Gets Longer And Longer’ - what a beautiful title and the meaning attached to it. It sums up the difficulty people with dementia face – the slow and gradual loss of recognition. Every day it takes a longer time than before for the grandpa to come back to his memories, to recollect, and get in touch with the reality.
