Protecting Caroline by Susan Stoker
3.0
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
Having never read a military book, outside of the science fiction/fantasy genres, I figured this would be a good book to start. It looked interesting.
As far as the action part of this story, it was pretty great. It managed to hold my attention and keep me wondering what was going to happen next.
I feel the biggest flaw of this story was with the editing. There weren't really any typos, but the flow of the story seemed to be off. Also, there was a lot of unnecessary repetition.
That being said, I was impressed with the relationship between Matthew and Caroline. I hope to see more from them in upcoming books in this series.

A Life, Forward: A Rowan Slone Novel by Tracy Hewitt Meyer
5.0
I was given a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
It's been about 100 books since I listened to the first book on Audible, and I wasn't sure if I would be able to pick it up easily. I usually don't like waiting so long between books in a series because I forget too much.
That was definitely not the case here. It was easy to get back into the story and I felt like I had just finished book one, it was all so fresh in my mind. I was quite impressed with how well the author transitioned between the two.
Oh my gawd, the drama. I loved it! I could hardly put it down. I wanted so badly to just get inside the book and punch certain people in the face. I was actually shaking with anger at one point. That's how cool I am.
I'm glad I agreed to continue this series. It was worth the read, and I absolutely cannot wait to begin the next book.

Sway by Kate Roth
5.0
I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
In all seriousness, I was reluctant to read a story about Beau. I read Natural Harmony, he was a buttface. I knew he wasn't going to be one in this book, but I wasn't sure how it was going to work and I was iffy about liking it.
Holy fluff balls, I was wrong.
This book is the best of all of Kate Roth's books, so far. I meant to just read it for a bit - but I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Whitney and Beau was intense and wonderful and I couldn't just stop reading. I needed to know what would happen next!
It is really hard for me to be affected by a book to the point where it makes me cry. I can feel emotional and sadness, but it isn't the same. There was a part of this book that broke my heart and I couldn't help it. I cried. ...and, again, I couldn't put it down. I had feels that needed fixing.
I loved this book, but after finishing it, I had one thought - I NEED to read the Vanessa/Kennedy story, immediately. I cannot wait to read it!

Funeral with a View by Matt Schiariti
5.0
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I've been waiting for this blasted thing for a year. Okay, over a year. I was part of both the beta and ARC teams, but I always prefer to read the final version of a book - so I know how it ends up.
I loved it a year ago, and I love it even more now. Matt Schiariti is one of my favorite authors for good reason. His stuff is hilarious, but not in a cheesy way, and it has enough drama to keep you glued to it.
WARNING: This book has feels. Strong ones. I cried. I also got upset with some characters, and I wanted to kick a couple in the butt. They know what they did!
This is a fabulous book and was well worth the wait.

Fruit of Misfortune by Nely Cab
5.0
I was given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
First of all, I would like it known that I waited almost two years for this book. I had hyped myself up for it, so there were a lot of high expectations on my part.
This book did not disappoint.
There were several new characters, and they all fit right into the story. Although I would like it known that I shall refer to Eros as "buttface" until he proves himself otherwise.
I both liked and wanted to smack Isis in this story for how she acted. I understand that she didn't have the full picture, and she was trying to do what she thought was for the best, but gawd damn. It was a nice relief to see a heroine struggling and not have everything together where it fits into place perfectly. Made her feel more realistic to me.
There were times where I felt lost, as if I had missed something, but each time the answer came later on in the story. I'm a very impatient person.
One thing I must say... expect feels. Because they're definitely in here.
Speaking of feels... my least favorite part was the ending, because just that... it ended. I will need book three immediately so that I may continue reading this story, because I'm frustrated that I don't have it with me now.

Last Resort by Kate Roth
5.0
I've read all of Kate's books before this one came out. She had asked me about reviewing for it, but I said no. Me and erotica don't mix. I'm not mature enough.
Anyway, it's been a little while since this was published. I see teasers from time to time on Facebook, and I've remained curious. I already knew I'm a fan of Kate's writing, so the only thing holding me back from reading this was all the sex.
Again, I'm not mature enough for such things. I mostly read YA fantasy. I typically skip sex scenes in books!
But I couldn't get this book out of my head. I check on it every now and again, but would quickly close the page and go about my day. I've got a ton of other books to read, so I shouldn't be worries about this one.
Except I was.
Recently, I realized that I was nearing 200 reviews on Amazon. So I vowed to make this one number 200. This meant I would need to read some other erotic stories to see if I could do it.
I did. I'm cool like that. Also, I always hated how I was limiting myself. Especially after I discovered there is a difference between erotic stories and erotica romance stories.
I don't hate sex. I'm just not used to read about it.
So, I hit review 199 on Amazon and I finally bought this one. Took me a couple days to build up my nerve to read it. But once I started it, it was hard to put it down.
I forgot how simply wonderful Kate writes her characters. These are real people, and she does them fantastically. You cannot help but me pulled in to their world.
And I was.
There were times my eyes watered. Lots of times I laughed out loud. One time I had to shut my kindle and pace back and forth because of something horrifically mortifying that one of the characters said, and I was embarrassed for them!
This all being said, I loved this book. It was beyond my expectations. I've already gotten myself a copy of the sequel, and I cannot wait to start it.
Absolutely loved it! Beautifully written! It's been a little while since I could say this, but everyone needs to read this book immediately!

Sold To The Dragons by Amira Rain

***AUDIOBOOK REVIEW***
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
First of all, I totally agreed to review this book on a whim. I didn't even know what menage was until I sent a message to Bob, after I found out I was accepted for the review... and she replied with a lot of laughing. It also turns out there is a sticker on facebook with three dragons on it. She sent that a lot as well.
So, I start the book. It's pretty interesting. The girl's family is starving so she agrees to sell herself at the auction as a way to help out her younger brothers. I get captivated it by it fairly quickly.
She gets sold, finds out the person is a dragon shifter and by "person" I mean two of them.
There's fighting over her and whatnot, while there's also drama going about in the shifter realm. Until she's finally, "C'mon guys. You should both come at me together. BFFS, man." Okay, that quote isn't in there at all. But it's basically what happens.
Anyway, there's two dragon shifters trying to get her preggers. Lots of "fun times to be had."
The plot of the story is pretty interesting. The narrator did a pretty good job as well. My issue was with the repetition. "Slick folds" and "steel rod" was used pretty much every time something to do with sex occurred. Actually most of the story is pretty repetitious. A sentence will be said, and then said again ALMOST IMMEDIATELY.
Without the narration, I'd give this story 2/5 platypires - but since this is an audible review and I actually enjoyed Meghan Kelly's narration... 3/5 platypires
