I honestly feel like the last few books that I have reviewed have been incredible. I know that I am probably not the only one that doesn’t like to feel disappointed by a book. Home Before Dark DID NOT disappointed me one bit. There is so much going on in every chapter that it is impossible for you to get bored or to even stop reading. The concept of a book inside a book is new to me, and I am glad that this was my first. The many questions you have by the end of one chapter are answered in the next one and you just want to keep reading. It is so incredibly written. I had Full Body Chills a couple of times while reading it. I LOVE with my whole being a good scary story/haunted house/family drama. And this book was just it for me. I bought it as an ebook first and now I must have it in my bookshelf. I believe that says it all. If you want to be “spooped” this is the book for the season.

I honestly hope that this is not the last book of the series. I really enjoyed this one compared to how much I hated the second one. I think that, if you like fantasy, it’s super interesting how fantasy authors portray the fae and other creatures in so many different ways. For me, I don’t particularly love Black’s description of faeries and to be able to enjoy the story, I kind of have to forget that that is what they are but, the outcome of this book was pretty much what I was hoping for. I still wanted to kill him or at least slap him buuuut overall, the whole thing is an A- to me.

I am starting by giving this one 5 ⭐️s. Why? Because it’s even better than the first one. We have the FOUNDER of the Bromance Bookclub getting a taste of his own medicine and it was gooooooood! I don’t know why, but that bastard chef? I was picturing Gordon Ramsay the whole time. That’s awful! The sense of justice was amazing. I loved this book from beginning to end. You guys need to give this series a try! I cannot wait for the third one! ❤️‍

I had a feeling that this book was going to be epic. Boy, I’m glad it did not disappoint. My husband was looking at me like I was crazy because I couldn’t stop laughing. This enemies-to-lovers story is bound to grab your heart and it will not let go. I had so much fun reading it. I wanted to kill them both for being so childish with their games but at the end everything payed off. It was so interesting seeing how thin the line between love and hate actually is. Slowly but surely they build up a friendship that was everything to them. That scene where Lucy put Josh’s dad in his place was EVERYTHING. The fact that he was able to say thank and admit that he needed the help, it just melted my heart. I loved the chemistry, the spark and lust they had for each other, it was driving them insane and it was very entertaining to read. I am just in love with the book, to the point that I am definitely purchasing it later because I would re read this baby in heartbeat. If you haven’t read it yet, WHAT THE HECK ARE YO WAITING FOR??? THIS IS THE ONE!

“I always find it odd when people say that of the dead. They had their whole life ahead of them. Clearly, they didn't because they're dead. We may not like the method of disposal but when it's your time to go, then it's your time to go.”
― Nadine Matheson, The Jigsaw Man

Holy crap, the rollercoaster that was this book. I am obsessed with Matheson’s writing style. She got me hooked from page one and I literally groaned every time I had to put the book down. I just wanted to devore the whole thing in one sitting. This book is almost 500 pages long but let me tell you something... It is absolutely worth it. You won’t even feel them. You literally won’t catch a break because one thing we can say for sure is that Henley did not catch a break. I got mad at her at one point because what she was doing was completely irrational. Hypocrite beyond measure, but a decent book-detective. This double serial killer thriller is one to have in your bookshelf and definitely re-read. I know I will and I cannot wait to see what’s on DI Henley’s future.

When will the next book be released again? I just need to know what else this amazing human has in store for us. What an amazing book. I am only going to focus on the audiobook format because it is just brilliant. The voice actors did an mazing job once again and the story…. The story was so good. A little bit more predictable than the first one but still kept you going and is the type of book that it’s just as entertaining as a good true crime podcast. To the point that I DM’ed Ashley Flowers from Crime Junkie to recommend the audiobook to her since she loved The Night Swim so much. Haven’t got back from them yet but it’s not a big deal. Hahahaha Anyway, I just enjoyed this book so much that I personally want to recommend it to everyone. Just go ahead and freaking read or give the audiobook a try. You won’t regret it.

Remember how I just really wanted to read this book so freaking bad? I regret it. I don’t think I like this storyline anymore. WHAT A NARCISSISTIC PIECE OF

Now I just cannot wait to read The Hating Game. I am in love with Thorne’s writing. It was such a fun read. I didn’t wanted it to end. I wanted more from their story and I was just on love. Can we talk about her annoying twin? Oh my goodness what an annoying character. I felt like punching him at least THE ENTIRE FREAKING BOOK. It is not a book that it’s going to make you go “OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING” but it will definitely entertain you to the point that at least you’ll say “aww cute”. It is just that. A regular romance that we all need every now and then. At least for those of us that read romance sporadically. I just have to be in the mood.
