"Everything was brighter when you were there. I don't think I'd have made it through my childhood without you." - Morgan

"Morgan is a lot of things. He's flawed and imperfect, but he's not the type to throw the word love around if he doesn't feel it." - Dusty

Dusty and Morgan have been childhood best friends. Dusty was always there for Morgan, to help him with his grief and complicated relationships with his family. And Morgan helped Dusty's family wherever he could. Dusty's parents always had room for Morgan and it's good that he grew up with them by his side, that he knows what healthy relationships look like. The Swift brothers grew up around grief, a place where men can't talk about their feelings and they were blamed for things that weren't their fault. That's how they grew up and that explains a lot about the behaviors of the Swift brothers. They are all adults now and they are learning how to form healthy relationships with each other.

Dusty is very patient and loving and even after 10 years, he still knows how to treat Morgan and their connection felt comforting. However I did think this book was a bit repetitive, they had a lot of the same conversations and conclusions. The connection of the brothers is growing with each book and I'm ready for the next one. They all deserve love and to heal.

“You make everything brighter, Poppy.” - Bowie

"Bowie’s heart opens more all the time. I feel like I see more of his guard dropping nearly by the minute." - Poppy

Even though this book has a surprise pregnancy, there was still time to get to know each other before Poppy took a pregnancy test. Becca, Bowie’s daughter really likes Poppy and she loves spending time with her, and of course Bowie is there too and he really loves seeing Poppy with his daughter. Bowie is a really great partner and friend. All Becca ever wanted was a mother. Her dad is really great but she missed having a mother. Also Martha the dog was so fun too, Becca has Down Syndrome and Martha really fits into their family and could help and understood her in moments that others couldn't.

This book went from:

“I wish Poppy was my mommy,” - Becca

To:

“Daddy, I have a mom!”- Becca

And those moments were so beautiful (yes, I cried, she just wanted to be loved)! Not only did Becca get a mother and did she became a big sister but her dad also got an amazing, loving partner that can reassure him that she's staying. He's giving his children the loving childhood that he never had. And of course there are lots of fun and loving/meaningful moments between the "single" dad's and their partners with Poppy! I can't wait to read Penn's book! Also that wedding was definitely a original experience!

"Is it weird to hope for something like this? That our past selves could be better than they actually were?" - Jack

"My home is where he is. I don’t need a place like this. He is my home. The sun in my gloomy life." - Prudence

In the start of this book Jack decided to hire people to help him because he wanted Prudence to be his sister and not his caregiver anymore (he has Steinert Disease). I understand that, but for her, it felt out of the blue and I think she deserved a good conversation about that, sooner. It felt disrespectful to me, but he did it with good intentions. He didn't think about how that "out of the blue decision" would feel for her. He wants his sister to find love, and eventually she finds that with her brother's best friend. And Jack also finds love in his sweet and caring boyfriend. This book isn't focused on the romance but more about a brother and sister and I really appreciate that.

It was clear from the start that Jack didn't know how long he has and even though the unknown is scary, he still makes fun memories and finds love. There are two love stories in this book: from Jack and Prudence and you follow both of them. There are people that abandoned Jack and Prudence but they always choose each other, and they have found their people, It's a close and loving group. Make sure to read the trigger warnings.

There was a lot going on in this book. Sometimes it felt messy and hard to follow because of it.

"Sitting amid these two men and feeling at home in his skin was just…unfathomable." - Ezra

"He’d learned enough of what felt wrong to recognize what felt…right." - Sloan

“We can’t choose our hardships, but we can choose to weather them with others.”- Kai

I really loved how they connected and always tried to be honest, even though it wasn't easy because they also wanted to protect each other. They all deserve to have love even if they didn't always believed that themselves. They helped each other when needed, they learned to be vulnerable around each other, which is also necessary if they wanted to have fun with each other, it's all about trust and honesty. The found family & hurt/comfort is strong in this book and I really loved it! They deserve to feel happy and they shouldn't live in fear because of dangerous people in their lives.

Ezra is trans and has a very hateful brother, it was hard to read what he did and said to Ezra. I'm glad that Ezra pushed to find love, that he didn't let his brother destroy the love that he has found in Sloan and Kai.

Sloan has also been through a lot and I'm glad that he could see Ezra differently and that he took control of his life and gave himself a chance to feel vulnerable around Ezra and Kai.

Kai has Lupus and is also a baby bi, he had to really learn that other people can take care of him and he tried a lot of new things. It was just a lot for him that his life changed when he got Lupus but still he deserves to find love and I'm glad that he also realized that!

“I feel like I’ve found my other half. I love how unhindered he is with me, that we can be completely ourselves with each other.” - Callie

"She is my safe space, and I’m more comfortable with her than any of them because I don’t have to watch myself." - Sebastian

Calliope's dad is VERY controlling/abusive and she doesn't feel seen or loved by him, he doesn't see how hard she works or how smart she is. He truly is a horrible person! (He has his own problems and reasons, but that will never make his behavior okay, he is an adult and manipulative). He even trusts Sebastian more than his own daughter! Sebastian sees it and makes sure to give her as much freedom as possible.

Callie notices that Sebastian likes his own space, he doesn't like to be touched, but with Callie things are different. She also helps him try new things at his pace and she's always there to comfort him. She takes care of him and Sebastian takes care of Callie when she has migraines. I have autism and I had migraines for a big part of my childhood so I definitely felt seen while reading this book and reading the much needed conversation between him and his family, made me cry because I felt seen.

"She hides behind a wall of confidence, masked with purple hair and a nose ring. But all she really wants is to be seen for who she is. Just like me. I’m more than a diabetic, more than a socially awkward introvert. And she is more than the professor’s daughter." - Sebastian

There is just an understanding between them, Sebastian saying that he needs to recharge and then they just sat in the room, both reading their own book!!
“We pushed his boundaries a lot yesterday, and today is supposed to be about rewarding him.” - Callie

They are just perfect! They both deserved to be seen and loved the right way and they treat each other the right way. As the first book in this serie (The Wrong Brother), the main characters also have a very healthy relationship, where they talk about their feelings, wants and needs! Callie is totally accepted into the Wrighting family! She has found a loving (found) family!

"All I want is to make him feel better, though I have no idea how to do that. I probably can’t, but I desperately want to." - Lemon

"Every single encounter with you, Lemon, I’m more confused about who you are as a person for real and I’m infinitely fascinated." - Hansley

Lemon wears colorful clothes and is kind to his students, he doesn't let people in, I understand why. He isn't really kind to the people he works with, people have get out of their way to even contact him because he never reads his emails, isn't that part of the job??? He knows that Hansley is married, from the start of the book. Hansley knows that he is a horrible person to his wife for cheating on her and that she didn't deserve it. There is hate and interest between Lemon and Hansley, they are also both coaches. Lemon gives his students hugs when they need them. The University is a safe place to be who you are and dress how you want. I think Lemon is a good example of that, with his colorful clothes and makeup. Hansley started asking for Lemon's hugs and that really helps him with dealing with his feelings.

This book just isn't for me, I just can't like Hansley while he was cheating on his wife for a while without telling her and that Lemon started it. It is just disgusting, he should have had more respect for himself and don't go after married people. They are both 30+ years old too. They just don't take responsibility for any behavior, for a very long time. I just hoped that they would've learned what respect is, sooner because they really treated so much better like they were nothing. They really changed in the end after some explaining.

I really loved the first book in this serie (Butcher & Blackbird), I liked the second book (Leather & Lark) but this book.....

In my opinion this book has 0% chemistry between the characters (I also didn't see chemistry between the characters in the second book), all they do is have spicy time.... So much spicy time, that it was really hard for me to finish this audiobook. It's boring and messy, the audiobook was good, the narrators are good and they were probably the only reason I finished it. The storyline was barly there and was just very messy. Their "Romance" also felt very rushed.

"You aren't only important to me. I love how you see and hear me, even when I don't say a word." - Harley

"Despite all the sh!t happening around me, you keep me grounded with your patience and kindness." - Kingston

Harley (Omega) & Kingston (Alpha) really started dating because they wanted a partner for life and they took dating very serious. Also Kingston and Harley are both green flags, (they are both the type of men that their family goes to for advice because they make them feel safe), they were both very honest from the start and they have a lot in common. But Kingston is also stubborn and eventhough he was triggered, they still made it.

Harley has a 16 year old son, Hudson. I really love the encouragement from their family to start dating. Because they both deserve to find love. They could talk so easily, that's really refreshing to read, I just love this serie so much!! Definitely a 5 star Serie for me!

"I know the restaurant needs you, but you need you, too." - Hudson (Harley's son)

Hudson has such a good relationship with his dad that he even started working for him because he wants to spend more time with his dad, they have a very healthy relationship, they even talk about boys together and Hudson could also do that with Kingston. That says a lot about how Harley raised him. Also Harley loves reading romance books and I'm glad that he had his own romance (book).

"To some people looking in, I had a large family. To me, it wasn’t large enough." - Kingston

Kingston has always been there for his family and they were there for him too, when he needed them the most. He was really struggling in general but also financially and he had to learn how to accept help. Nobody can be strong forever but he has always been the person that helped others so that was new for him too.
