I wanted to be invested in this but the writing was not good. Also I got hit with an unexpected “she let out the breath she didn’t know she was holding” at 7% into the book and couldn’t seem to find a way back into it.

The pacing felt so uneven at times. I would hit a run if about 20 pages where I couldn’t put it down and then the narration would meander over to something I didn’t care about and I would have to force myself to skim the pages. 

Still trying to find a book by an Irish author that I like without major stylistic criticisms.

Not particularly well written and I hated the two characters I was forced to spend the most time with. I just don’t know that I needed a 200 page redemption arc for a shitty dude.
