I haven't read all parts of 'L'amica Geniale', but I have seen all 4 seasons of the show. In both media forms, Elena ferrante's halo of nostalgia and whimsical realism were imprinted on the story. I feel like her writing might be the closest and most accurate to what could be described as 'mundane observations and explicit internal monologue' that every girl/woman experiences throughout her life. Many parts of the story felt like they were extracted from a memory. The consistency by which this is translated through different languages and media, without being diluted or generalized, can only reflect one thing on Ferrante, which is persistent storytelling.
