This book is about the problems of a relationship in the frame of uncontrollable time-travel. Certain events are predestined, and there is a sense of inevitability that hangs over the characters’ lives. They struggle to come to terms with their lack of control over their lives.
It is not another sci-fi thriller about time-travel but an original take on a romance and its part enjoyable, part confusing. Even though it did not completely blow me away, I did enjoy.

I would recommend this and yet patience is something you really need to have an ample store of if you want to see this one through.

The title of this book is catchy, but I couldn't find it justifiable. I was expecting much more from
this book, as the title seemed very interesting. At one point of time, I felt like I was reading a Bollywood sort of fantasized story.

If you are a die-hard fan of bollywood films and romantic novels I would recommend this book to you.

It shifts focus from epic adventure to introspective exploration of Paul Atreides's burdened reign and delves deeper into the complexities of power and leadership.

The novel follows Paul Atreides, now Emperor, as he grapples with the consequences of his rise to power and the jihad he initiated. Herbert's exploration of themes such as prophecy, sacrifice, and the burdens of messianic expectations adds depth to the narrative. The pacing is slower than its predecessor, focusing more on political intrigue and philosophical discourse than action.

While some readers may find the complexity overwhelming, the novel rewards those who engage with its themes. The ending leaves readers contemplating the nature of fate and free will. Dune Messiah is a compelling meditation on power and its personal cost.

"To Play the King" is the second installment in Michael Dobbs' acclaimed political thriller series, following "House of Cards." The novel continues the story of Francis Urquhart, a cunning and ruthless politician who has ascended to the position of Prime Minister in the United Kingdom. The narrative picks up with the arrival of a new king, a young and idealistic monarch who poses a significant challenge to Urquhart's authority and ambitions.

Author’s' writing is sharp and engaging, filled with biting political commentary and clever dialogue. The book’s pacing can sometimes feel slow, especially during the more detailed discussions of political strategy, but these moments serve to build tension and provide context for the complex decisions the characters are making.

"To Play the King" is a masterful political thriller and a worthy sequel to "House of Cards."
