I truly wanted to love this book, all the hype surrounding it, hope for a new version of a story of passing, and beautiful cover art but it just all fell short from me. A few chapters in I knew I would have to truly push myself to finish. I loved the direction I saw the author going in and as I continued the authors direction changed never quite reaching the destination of deep diving into those areas that we were given a peek-a-boo into. I truly wish it had taken that dive instead of just left me feeling like it was all about incomplete but I suppose as the title suggests, The Vanishing Half it's about the sister that chose to pass and vanished lightly (I say in jest) touching on everything and nothing at the same time as all the characters interact and exist.
