I loved this! I thought the characters had really good development throughout and despite it being a fantasy world, it's description is easy to follow and not too confusing. I also love the way it swaps to different characters but it's always on a 1st person basis.

I really enjoyed this, from start to finish I was on the edge of my seat. Any time it felt like a dip was coming up there was suddenly another shock! The author did such an amazing job keeping it tense the whole way through and I loved how detailed the actual flight details were, it just felt so real.

I have read previous books by this author and really loved them, I really enjoyed Hooked due to the ability to take an already made, widely known and loved story and make it your own which is what lead me to read this. However, this book had no real connection to The Wizard of Oz apart from some of the characters names, it's a kind of Mafia x FBI Agent love story whereas i was kind of expecting at least a little fantasy. The book was OK which is the reason for 3 stars but not something I would really recommend. I felt the characters were a bit bland, there was no build up in relationship so even as a love story it was fairly disappointing. The ending was a little flat so if you are to read this then I would definitely recommend reading the epilogue you can find online or in the physical book (I read it on the kindle).

I loved this book, it is a series of novellas and I read it 1st before starting Throne of Glass and I'm so glad I did as Throne of Glass starts from the end of Assassins Blade, I really like how you can tell Celeana is just 16 at the start as you can see the immaturity mixed with the force of having to grow up at such a young age. I loved her and Sam's tense relationship and his death was so sad, I really liked how the author didn't hold back on how brutally he was tortured as I feel like you could really get an idea in your head of how painful it was for Celeana to see him like that. I didn't really get a sense of diversity in characters I.e. different races etc. Until sort of the 3rd novella but I loved the characters within the book, even the ones we hate, I loved to hate them. The stories themselves were very quick paced, descriptive and despite only being short really gave a good description of the world so at no point did I feel lost, I could really imagine the scenes playing out. 5 star rating definitely.
