I could not put it down.
I felt the real thing while reading it. Bat ba. Hehe!
(Drats. I should have read the other two books first. This one ranked the highest among the four books in the series.)

Surprisingly nice, like the movie Something Borrowed. I just took too long, finishing it after two days. The first parts were a little dragging, but necessary. Hehe!
Will probably check out some Emily Giffin stories again next time.
"How would I be able to take care of twins—or even tell them apart? It felt surreal."
Parang gusto ko rin ng twin boys. Wahahaha!

This is the author's first novel. And it wasn't so bad. Though, not very good either. Sorry, I just have to compare with Samantha Sotto's Before Ever After and Karen Swan's Christmas at Tiffany's. They were the authors' first novels, as well.
Light read. But not exactly a chick literature. It definitely had more serious conflicts. And touchy topics. But not as controversial as the Coelho book I read last year. (Gosh, I forgot the title na. :|) But then again, it's set in the 1950s. People were most probably VERY conservative... and old-school. Hmm.. Traditional might be more apt. Hahaha!
It must have been overwhelming writing your first novel, because Geraldine must have stuffed all the possible conflicts in all 43 chapters (including the prologue). It's okay, because each character had his own story. BUT, the novel was titled Tara Flynn. It was only expected that the book would all be about her. But it wasn't. And not even told in the first person.
Another thing, there were too many characters.
Tara Flynn seems too much of a perfect girl to exist in real life. Haha!
And, I think the ending was rushed. One of my pet peeves is when everyone ends up happy. (Shet, sorry spoiler.) Because it's not always the case. Cynical much? Hahaha! (HPie, this is not your blog.)
Usual excerpts:
"We're well off, and we don't know it."
Tara Flynn had learned already that it was better to look forward with hope, than look back holding a grudge.
Instinctively she knew that if a man was worth having, then he was the one who would have to do all the running in the courtship.

There must be something wrong with me. Affected ako sa "brokenhearted" moments. Hahaha!
Too long. And as usual, I'm curious on what happens after. It's too much of a happy ending. Hehe!

The book is about a high school girl, Julia, who is A LITTLE OBSESSED with the "fantasy" of soul mates, or MEANT TO BE as she calls it. Their class goes on a trip, and she is paired up with her obnoxious classmate, Jason, as her buddy. Go figure what happens during the trip. Hahahaha!
I like how LM is stoked about London. (Or how LM created Julia's character who more or less "worships" London.) I especially enjoyed her statement, Screw Paris; London is the city for me. It made me want to go there all the more! (Well, Paris is never really on my top Europe places to visit.) I have to say, after reading this book, it'd be really hard to not want to visit London!
I also like the author being a fan of The Beatles. Don't shoot me. I'm a boyband-baby! (I've only watched two concerts -- Backstreet Boys and Jason Mraz.) And since ALMOST no one could go wrong with the Classics, I decided to listen to some of the Beatles songs mentioned on the books, and I LOVE it. Beat is old school (what can we expect from it?), and BSB is still above the Beatles for me. But what the hell, music is love.
This is categorized as a Young Adult read. Unless you don't mind cutesy, high school antics, I doubt you'd enjoy this. It's not very predictable, although the conflict of the story is pretty simple. It's pretty funny, and I did took note a quite of 'em.
This is LM's first book, and I'm satisfied enough with it that I'll most likely read her next ones. : )

"You are a jerk," I say to him in a low voice as soon as Mrs. T is out of hearing range.
"You started it," he replies, shrugging as he attempts to de-wrinkle his gray polo.
"What are you, five?"
"We're in London. Everything's special."
It's only now, as I look at the image on the back of my digital camera, that I see why he was laughing.
He's holding bunny ears over my head.
Seriously? Is he five?
When I'm underwater, the world is literally muted, and I'm left only to my own head.
"Do something even if it's not the magical, wonderful thing you had in mind. Don't sit around for one more second pining away for some fantasy that might never come along, because it might not even exist."
Let him break the rules, and I'll trail behind, reaping the reward, hopefully in the form of awesome European smooching - or snogging, as the Brits would say.
"We're headed to Notting Hill," Mrs. Tennison replies, constantly counting and recounting our group as we make our way up the street.
"Like in the movie?" Sarah squeals.
"What movie?" Mrs. Tennison asks, and Sarah just stares at her, mouth gaping.
I can’t believe this is happening to me. How did this become my life?
I actually have more quotes. In total, 54. Hahahaha! Read up!
