It was a hallmark movie (derogatory). I think the author forgot who the main character was by the end of the book. It felt like much of Holly’s angst and strife remained unresolved meanwhile Kai had everything wrapped up in a bow.

Honestly, I hated how something traumatic happened to Holly and rather than some introspection, her and her entire family just thought another man will solve her problems!? Listen, I’m a lover girl down but even I was appalled by her mother basically pressuring her into a new relationship. It was bizarre and off putting. A man will be your problems rarely will they solve it.

Overall, the dialogue left much to be desired. If I never see snickered used in a sentence again it would still be too soon. I got bored midway through and the book lacked substance. Again, hallmark movie.
