the first novel Iāve ever read entirely in Korean! Bc even though I was born there Iām very embarrassed to admit that my knowledge of the language is not optimal haha.
I knowingly picked a book that I hoped would hook me right away and I was definitely not disappointed: even though the book did drag for me at a couple of places (especially when the characters where telling their kidams, like no wonder they got killed lol), this novel still kept me interested enough to get through it!
Idk how to rate this because honestly, Iām pretty sure I didnāt understand the ending and other stuff solely bc of my mediocre Korean and thatās not the bookās fault ig???
Overall, pretty fun and extra points bc I didnāt just abandon it at some point like I did with all the other Korean books Iāve read over the years haha.
you know when you spend a whole day after finishing a book staring at your wall and trying to figure out what to do with your life to fill that hole of emptiness that the book has left you? Yeah.
This was rlly fun but due to the massive amount of exams and stress and winter depression in my life right now, I wasnāt really able to enjoy this book as much I might have in any other time of my life.
Still amazing tho and I will definitely read more from the author in the future!
Iām pretty new to poetry so I donāt really get it so this review is based off personal enjoyment alone!!
felt like a big sister was giving me advice on life but also
A lot of poems, but the āencouragingā poems especially kind of just repeated themselves in different formats over and over again lol. Also Iām confident these 13 year old TikTok writers couldāve written like 70% of these lmao
But overall, even though the poems were basic and cheesy kinda, this was a quick read so itās ok!
this book was rlly interestingly written bc it wasnāt character driven but not plot driven either??? Like it was just random moments of a thirteen year oldās life (that were quite interesting but still rlly āwhat the fuckā to read about)
It doesnāt really have an overly thrilling plot or overly loveable characters, shocking turns of events are handled like everyday things and happen suddenly. Overall youāll be double taking if certain stuff actually happened because the main characters seem so unbothered by that absolutely disturbing turn of events.
