This is one of the first books I have read for starting to study Medieval History. It is great to dip in and out off for info and an introduction to the subject.

I am new to studying Medieval History and this book is brilliant for the beginner. It is laid out well and contains a good overview of the period. It is written well and is pretty easy to understand.

Brilliant book. I just love the style it is written in. The imagery is beautiful and it really makes you think. It is a book that stays with you once you have finished it.
