twists are guessable. characters are fucking annoying at first. also again, just like the naturals, common sense isn’t so common, or comes in 20-40 business days like an imported book for all the so called geniuses, huh. still fun tho

Some parts of the books maybe could’ve been worded better to not sound as cliche or cringe or the forced kind of progressive but otherwise a very lovely cozy fantasy witchy book!

those last few chapters? i was there with her. that was fucking scary. incredible. never wanna go through something like that again.
happy i was able to guess who they are 191 pages in. never fully trust people who are kind for no reason. they also just groomed her to do bad things and just fully let her anger out. did pip go to therapy after the last book? she def should go now.
i hope max dies next. or go to jail forever, then immediately die bcs they beat him to death.
wish i could tag the cw for betrayal bcs fuck ant & lauren.

the beginning of the book was not as catchy as agggtm. found it kinda hard to pick up, but i'm glad i pushed through, because once i hit the 20%-something mark i really couldn't stop. especially the last 40% of the book. holy shit. she's done it again. completely blew me away by the last few chapters.

If I were a critic, I'd say Pippa is a contradictory of her own description of personality. Smart, bright, 'good' girl, yet she lacks common sense, or rather just has no sense of danger whatsoever, despite being an avid true crime podcast listener. One might say it's because her need to prove herself. I both love & hate that it keeps me guessing, and when I felt like I know for sure what actually happened, it just crashed all my theories.
But because I'm just a normal reader, and I rate books based on how much I enjoyed them, I'm giving this 9/10⭐. Couldn't put it down, delayed days of sleep to read more chapters. Can't wait to read the next one. If not for the plot, for Ravi Singh. (& Salil Singh)

Really just meh. The gang’s background should’ve been more integrated in the actual books not just an extra. Personally I would’ve loved to have each book having the villain be related to each of the gang’s background & what made them a natural more. But that would’ve made more sense if they’re all the main characters, not just Cassie. I liked the series either way.

I pride myself in being able to predict where things are going in shows, movies, books. This book literally had me in the first half, thinking I’d guessed where it was going. But holy shit. NOTHING could’ve prepared me for that ending.

The best part of this series is how it keeps me guessing & on my toes. And the fact that the teens sounds like real human beings, not way too exaggerated, if a little fucked up. Very 3 dimensional characters. The plot flows real well too. Definitely one of my fav series now.

A bit more predictable. But still very much enjoyable.
