I liked it but didn't love it.
The concept of this story is terrifying and in a way it feels very real to how life currently is.
The author did a good job of making you, the reader squirm and grossed out. I don't think I'll ever look at ramen the same ever again but alas I was just more grossed out than scared..
I buddyread it with @erin.x.megan (go follow absolutely lovely x) but she didn't seem to enjoy it that much either.
Maybe it's survival fiction I don't enjoy but I can kind of see why people enjoy this so much but I feel the same way I felt about Wilder Girls by Rory Power.
If you like Lord of the flies kind of stories I highly reccomend and think you'll love this x

I was in such a weird slumpy mood before picking this one up and I'm so pleased I did!
I love this authors writing style, I was so hooked that I didn't even realize how fast I was reading. It definitely brought me out of my reading slump and I'm so happy about it.
I absolutely loved the story but I did wish it was a standalone because I felt the ending was rushed and I dislike cliffhangers but everything else was phenomenal and you can bet I'll be picking up the second book when it's released!
I'm also convinced to pick up this author's other works. I loved how much it felt like Knives Out which is one of my all time favorite movies!

Ok ok so I'm quickly binge reading the series before the show comes out because I wanna understand the hype but I procrastinated to long and the show comes out in the days

I feel so let down.
I loved Mal and Alina but I felt not only did their relationship but the characters downgraded. Alina had such good character development and then this one she seemed weak and "Save me." kinda vibes.
I really enjoyed seeing The Darklings back story though. He's an interesting character and I know Ben Barnes is going to slay as the character.
But how can Mal say he loves Alina but hooks up with another person? I just found that extremely shitty..
overall, liked it but not my favorite and now I can start Six of Crows!

So I completely understand the hype.
However, I don't really like the writing style that the author uses. It's very similar to Shadow and Bone but better so it's a 4⭐ for me!
I love our cast of criminals and the most impossible heist!
I would literally die for our main cast of characters they're all so perfect and I adore them

This was such a fun ride.
This is what I wanted One Of Us Is Lying to be. I love books that have similar vibes to The Breakfast Club (Which is what I named my bookclub after)
It was very YA but it wasn't bad 3⭐
It's like a combination of The Breakfast Club and Saw but it follows a who-done-it mystery and it was ok for me :)
