for a middle grade fantasy book, this one was pretty enjoyable, tho i’ve read better ones. there were some parts of the book that kinda threw me off like when the mc did something impossible for a kid to do!! but i still found it fun. i really wanted to give this a 4/5 but i just couldnt!! ngl it got kinda boring in the middle and i had to actually take a long break from this book. i think this book actually has a potential… if only the author did a better job at creating an atmosphere 🤔 also… WEAK character development

when I first read the descriptions of this book, i thought the this was all gonna be about Ren trying to find out his sister’s murderer, but it was more than that. i am a sensitive person so whenever he recalled all the moments while his sister was alive, it really touched my heart even though I don’t even really like the main character. despite how selfish Ren had been, Keiko would’ve always taken good care of his little brother. This book made dont wanna stop reading this, tho sometimes it got a little bit boring. The last 100 pages and everything was still unanswered and blurry???? the ending wasn’t what I wanted it to be bc I expected more (of course!). TBH, it could’ve been better (with all the plots, character development, and staff) but i really appreciate the author trying her best to make this book enjoyable!! Cheers! Loved the book.

oh my god what is happening? i seriously don’t know what’s going on in their mind or how their brains work. ISTG Ayoola is super annoying and i have no idea what her problems are does it have something to do with his father being abusive?? idk but i appreciate what she did to prorect Korede. KOREDE IS JUST- OHMYGODD yes she deserves better and if i were her i’d just tell the truth and make things clear, i know she’s been protecting her little sister since day 1 but c’mon??? Tade was just stupid, that’s it. I think they could live a normal life, only if they confessed tho. So yea it was a good book. I really enjoyed it even though i want Korede to get what she deserves!!
