This was very cute. I loved both of the characters. The side characters were adorable too. And I'm happy that everyone accepted them for who they were. However there were times when I found certain scenes problematic. I still have some issues with Haebom's character.

Buddy read with my amazing friends Bhavya and Ananya.

“Legally,” she said, “the Hawthorne family is required to provide you with keys. Practically speaking…” She narrowed her eyes. “The Hawthorne family is a pain in the ass.”

I read a hyped up book again and guess what? I didn't like it that much again. Either my expectations were very high or the book was not that good (highly unlikely).

There's one thing I need to ask everyone. Do you all really care about rich people? Like I still don't know who's the richest man in this world is and I really don't wanna know because why should I waste my time reading/watching things about them when they don't even know that we exist? So why do people care so much about Tobias Hawthorne who's not even in the top 10 list? Why do everyone wanna know about why he gave everything to Avery? Guys it's his fucking money. He can do whatever he wants to. People need to learn how to mind their own fucking bussiness.

“Hawthorne-born or Hawthorne-made, there’s always something to be played.”

THE LAST BOOK IN MY FAVORITE SERIES. I was a sobbing mess after reading this book not because the ending was sad, but because I was sad because it was ending. I know a whole new series exist but I couldn’t bring myself to complete the first book of that series (because wasn’t there). But let's not talk about this. Let's talk about how a masterpiece written by our great teacher Uncle Rick- someone who taught me that Greek mythology is very interesting and most of the things I know of Greek mythology is because of him- ended.

Highlights of this book: die (nothing new), Percy dreams a lot, Percy gets betrayed, Percy gets kissed by *wink* ____, Percy nearly dies (nothing new again), Percy gets threatened by her future mother in law *wink*.

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series might be the most relatable series you'll ever read. Just look at the conversation between the characters (these conversations are from the entire series just to make everyone who's read this series feel nostalgic):

1. “Let us find the dam snack bar” Zoë said. “We should eat while we can”
Grover cracked a smile. "The dam snack bar?"
Zoë blinked. "Yes. What is funny?"
"Nothing," Grover said, trying to keep a straight face. "I could use some dam french fries."
Even Thalia smiled at that. "And I need to use the dam restroom."......I started cracking up, and Thalia and Grover joined in, while Zoë just looked at me. "I do not understand."
"I want to use the dam water fountain," Grover said.
"And..." Thalia tried to catch her breath. "I want to buy a dam t-shirt.”

2. “Deadlines just aren’t real to me until I’m staring one in the face.”

3. “With great power…comes great need to take a nap. Wake me up later.”

4. “I’m calm,” Rachel insisted. “Every time I’m around you, some monsters attack us. What’s to be nervous about?”
“Look,” I said. “I’m sorry about the band room. I hope they didn’t kick you our or anything.”
“Nah. They asked me a lot of questions about you. I played dumb.”
“Was it hard?” Annabeth asked.

5. "Ever come home and found your room messed up? Like some helpful person (hi, Mom) has tried to “clean” it, and suddenly you can’t find anything? And even if nothing is missing, you get that creepy feeling like somebody’s been looking through your private stuff and dusting everything with lemon furniture polish?"

6. "Grover was sniffing the wind, looking nervous. He fished out his acorns and threw them into the sand, then played his pipes. They rearranged themselves in a pattern that made no sense to me, but Grover looked concerned.
"That's us," he said. "Those five nuts right there."
"Which one is me?" I asked.
"The little deformed one," Zoe suggested.
"Oh, shut up."

7. “But I've never even been to Olympus! Zeus is crazy!"
Chiron and Grover glanced nervously at the sky. The clouds didn't seem to be parting around us, as Grover had promised. They were rolling straight over our valley, sealing us in like a coffin lid.
Er, Percy ...?" Grover said. "We don't use the c-word to describe the Lord of the Sky.”

8. “My brother broke into a toothy grin. "Yay! Your brain works!”

At last I would like to say:
1. I love this series.
2. I love Nico.
3. I love Percabeth.
4. I don't give a shit about Rachel. Girl just stay away from Percy.
5. I really regret L___'s death. I couldn't bring myself to hate him.
6. Some greek gods are stupid not that bad.

Looking for Alaska by John Green

“I just did some calculations and I've been able to determine that you're full of shit.”

This book is full of shit. The characters in this book are full of shit. When we read a book from YA genre what do we expect? Themes dealing with friendships, relationships, grief, loss, identity etc. We start reading a book and we expect the character to grow up, deal with her/his own faults and difficulties she/he faces in their lives, take responsibilities for what they did, accept the fact that they we all do mess up in our lives. Now let's talk about this specific book which deals with friendships, betrayal, suicide, death, grief, bullying, drinking, smoking etc.

Miles “Pudge” Halter is the protagonist of this story who decides to join a boarding school in his junior year. There he makes new friends. They are Colonel, Alaska, Takumi,Lara. Let's discuss all the themes mentioned in this book and.

FRIENDSHIP: This book is mainly based on how "great" friends are and how friends should never rat out each other. But the thing is the so called friends in this book aren't worthy of being called friends. Good friends don't teach you how to smoke, good friends don't let you drink, good friends won't ever let you get into a situation where you can easily be expelled from school. Miles didn't have a lot of friends in his previous school. Maybe that's why he thought his new friends were great. But they were very opposite from them. This book would have been good if by the end Miles realized smoking/drinking is not good. However what we see in this book are how "good friends" take you to secret places and make you do things which any teenager shouldn't do. Please when authors write something then they should keep in mind that "actual teenagers" are reading this book. Being a teenager myself, I have seen a lot of people drink/smoke because they think doing so would make them look "cool". No it doesn't. Please.

GRIEF: The way grief is displayed in this book is something I really hated. I never liked Alaska. The gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, self-destructive, screwed up, and utterly fascinating Alaska Young. This is what's written in the blurb. But if you read the book then you'll find that Alaska isn't clever, not funny at all, self-destructive and screwed up she is, fascinating is something she's not. Her character was very flawed. She was the type of girl who lived for herself. She didn't give a fuck about if she was hurting someone. Yet everyone thought she was "cool". She wasn't. Believe me. When Alaska dies, her friends are hurting because of the sudden death. But really what they do in grief is really really stupid. They try to drink as much as Alaska might have drunk on the night she died just to check if she committed suicide. Shut the fuck up. That's really messed up.

To be honest I don't get the hype John Green's novel gets. And I read all of JG's book just because of the hype. His books are very problematic. The only JG I ever liked was Turtles all the Way down and that too not as much as I like other YA books. Believe me when I say I have read a lot of books related to grief and friendships which deals with issues like these so nicely. This book is just messed up.
