This is my first book I’ve read from Kennedy Ryan and whewwww, I devoured it! PLS PLS PLS check the trigger warnings before you read the book because this book delves into very deep and distressing topics that can be VERY TRIGGERING.
If anyone tells you this book is a romance book, they aren’t telling the truth. This book is about a young woman’s path on rediscovery after being in an abusive relationship with a sexy NBA player to help her through the pain. Kennedy Ryan did an amazing job at writing and detailing what abuse can/does look like! Highly recommend

I devoured this book! It was really refreshing to see a Black mafia book! Think of it like the Brutal Brightright series by Sophie Lark BUT BLACK! I really loved and there was no third act breakup which was really refreshing!
I loved Lucia and Enzo’s relationship and you can they truly care for another and love each other! This is the first book in the series so there is a lot thrown at you regarding the names of other characters and storylines that are important for the books succeeding it!
Overall I would give it a 3.75/5
