I know there’s a lot of bookworms here who love this series, so I’ll try my best to explain why I think B.K Borison saved the best for last.
While Lovelight is often seen as a standalone series, Business Casual sprinkles in delightful nods to the first four books that fans will adore. Charlie, though not an Inglewild resident, has been a familiar face throughout the series. As Stella’s half-brother, he’s a regular at Lovelight Farms and seems to pop up at every celebration. Watching Charlie take a break from city life to enjoy more time in his favorite small town, especially while looking after Lovelight during Stella and Luka’s honeymoon, is utterly charming. 🌟
With Nora being Beckett’s younger sister and Charlie an honorary member of Caleb’s family, we get even more glimpses of our beloved former couples. It’s like catching up with old friends, making the series' conclusion even sweeter. 💕
🎧 And if you’re listening to the audiobook, our favorite narrator is back yet again with a new hero. Pippa Jayne and Benjamin D. Walker’s voices truly bring Inglewild to life, wrapping you up better than Nora’s favorite burrito blanket technique.
Featuring excellent ADHD and chronic illness representation, quirky town phone tree antics, and the steamiest scenes yet, Lovelight fans will want to start the series all over again after this book. 🔥
Business Casual is out now at your favorite bookstore! If you’re new to the series, start with the first book – trust me, it’s totally worth it! 📚✨

It’s been too long since I’ve had a five star read, so thank goodness to Elsy, Anders, and @heyashposton for breaking my four star slump!

Eileen Merriweather’s car breaks down in Eloraton, the charming town from her favorite romance series. Stuck in the late author’s unfinished story, she sets out to finish it but clashes with a grumpy, irresistible bookstore owner. As Eloraton’s happy ending intertwines with her own, Eileen discovers real-life romance might be better than fiction. 📚
🌼 “A Novel Love Story” may be a niche plot for some, but it was everything I wanted in a summer read! I always wonder what happens in a romance after the Happily Ever After, so watching the town go lopsided as Elsy brought an outsider’s view is what makes this one a real page turner. It had me guessing the entire time, which is rare for me, as I can usually smell a plot twist a mile away.
Not to mention Anders is the book boyfriend of the YEAR! (Even if he doesn’t want to be, oh well! 😉) I love a GrumpyxSunshine moment, so this tea-drinking, no nonsense bookseller was perfectly swoon worthy. I will stare into his minty during any afternoon rainstorm! 💚
Before you crack open this one expecting some steamy moments, I do feel the need to note that this is a partially closed door romance. 🚪If you’re all about that and you love when romance novels get super meta, pick up A Novel Love Story now!

This is a well written book, and I enjoy the references to the Providence area as well as the social media aspect to the fake dating relationship.
Unfortunately, there are a few too many side plots happening for my liking, some of which that finish up halfway through the book and are barely mentioned again. Speaking of storylines, while I value the importance of Laniah’s medical journey, we don’t see how this connects to the romance until 90% into the novel. It would have been great to see more focus on how these two plots connect.
It probably doesn’t help that this slow burn is so slow that by the time there’s any heat to the relationship, it feels uncomfortable. I love a childhood friends to lovers romance, but watching Laniah and Isaac fall for one another is almost incestuous at times, since there is a heavy focus on how her parents are a second family to Isaac, as he grew up in the foster care system.
If you enjoy an emotional novel with a bit of romance, I’d recommend A Love Like The Sun. I really enjoy Riss M. Neilson’s writing style, so I’ll be taking a peek at her other books soon!
I had such a fun time reading this story! While I think I’m a bit older than the intended audience, this is a great book for older teens who are interested in learning more about the drag community.
In this new novel by Skye Quinlan, eighteen-year-old Briar Vincent spends the summer with her drag queen brother, Beau, in New York City. Provoked by the arrogant drag king Spencer Read, she enters a drag king competition despite having no experience. With Beau’s and her new friends’ help, she transforms into Edgar Allan Foe, aiming to conquer her anxiety and win the competition, while discovering there’s more to Spencer than she thought.
While I wish the book had dug down a bit deeper into the push and pull between Briar and Selene, this is still an entertaining summer read! If you love found family, enemies to lovers, and a competitive book, this is the YA Novel for you!
