Calling all dark romance girlies who want to read a light grey contemporary romance. Although this book definitely has all the warm fuzzies of a workplace/small town romance, it does have some continued dark themes with a stalker ex, panic attacks, and battles with addiction. As a book I've mostly seen marketed as a rom com, workplace romance I expected the trigger warnings to have a smaller part in the story.

With that being said, I don't think I've ever related to a main character of a book more. Olena is a funny, smart and strong willed woman with adhd. Her challenges with trauma, anxiety and adhd had me absolutely loving and rooting for her. The subtle additions to her mannerisms and characteristics (word vomit when nervous and hangry) made the neurodiversity so accurate for me and really made me feel seen.

Jude had me in love from their first meeting. Automatically assuming he was an a-hole to Olena instantly putting her foot in her mouth had me laughing so hard. Then when he gave her food when she was hangry, I knew he'd be in my heart forever. He is so supportive and patient with both Olena and his brother.

I loved the spice level and content! Their sexual tension at work was so good.

As soon as I saw the tropes of this book, I was immediately excited. This is my first book I've read from Alex Hanson and most definitely won't be my last.

This book is chonky but don't be intimidated!

The representation in this book is not something seen often in fantasy and I am so happy to have found authors who are filling the gaps. This was a wonderfully done why choose romantic Fantasy.

Evangeline/eve/Evan is closest to my gender expression than I've ever seen written in a book. It felt so validating to see a nonbinary main character with characteristics so similar to my own. There is also asexual representation in the book! I thought the disability representation was well done. The polyamorous relationships depicted were believable and well thought out. I loved the spicy content
