An interesting premise that sadly already feels somewhat dated. The lack of intersectionality was actually kind of jarring, as I imagine similar books could be written about race and LGBT data gaps. I do work in a field covered in the book and am using it as a jumping off point to find out more about possible solutions to these problems that I can impact.

I had a sneaking suspicion I wasn’t the target audience for this book after the introduction, but wanted to give it a fair shot. about 25% in and I know I’m not. DNF but I could see this book being a wonderful tool for someone who is not me.

A fun and fast YA space mystery! I kind of figured where it was going but had a great time reading it anyway.

Going to give this another shot in a few years when hopefully I feel more nostalgic for UNC Chapel Hill. Being a current grad student it’s a little too freaky to image someone ten years younger than me fighting demons in the bushes while I walk past the actual hedge the author describes.
