Ugh just when I thought I couldn’t love Dean Holder anymore than I already do. THIS BOOK HAPPENS and I just adore and love him so much.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 - This is book #3 in the Hopeless series

At first I was like okay this is an easy read and I was enjoying it overall. I liked knowing more about Six and her story. I truly have grown to deeply care for all the important characters in this series and learning about them has been so rewarding.
I didn’t think that this book was anything special and just when I said “I think I’ll stop for the night” ….BAM this book threw me for a loop outta no where! I immediately became heavily invested and had to know what was happening next. When I tell you i literally said “NO. YOU’RE JOKING” and my jaw dropped… I am being so honest!

This was a really fun read! From the moment I picked it up the story felt like it took off right away! It’s definitely a fast paced thriller.
I loved the amount of dialogue, bc it made me want to keep flipping the pages. This book was meeesssyyyy! (In a good way) I LOVED the creepy house and psychologists tropes. My faaavveeee! I also had so many different theories as to what happened, the dual POVs really left me in a constant state of thought!

I hate that it took me so many years to finally pick this book up off my bookshelf. Living in Huntsville, TX for seven years (during my college career and a few years after) This book ofc caught my eye. I bought this at the prison museum when I lived there and was always so interested in the death penalty and death row process since I lived right down the road and always saw inmates around town working. This book was a glimpse into the TDCJ system, its employees, and inmates. It’s all told through the perspective of a death chaplain which is very unique! This book is one that provokes lots of thoughts and emotions regardless is one’s stance on the death penalty. This book was heavy and I found myself crying and feeling so conflicted. It was very honest, raw, and truly such a great book that covers even all the way up to inmates last moments up until their last breath. I highly recommend this book if you’re interested in a very unique perspective of the death penalty and death row in Texas.
I know that this is going to be a controversial topic, but it’s a very good book. VERY VERY GOOD. I never lost interest in.

I ATE THIS MEMOIR UP!
Firstly I’d like to thank the author for her vulnerability with readers in this memoir. This memoir covered so many topics: life, cultural history, mental health, pregnancy, relationships, familial topics, religion and spirituality, gender norms and so on. While this book had me laughing so hard in the first two sections, the memoir became serious and I was immersed in this very heavily. I’ve been reading this since the day it was gifted to me (shoutout Kristen

Okaaaay where to begin….this book was good! I ate the story line upppp, BUT only after I was 50% into the book. The first half was so hard for me to keep up with and I actually had to restart the book about 80 pages in because I wasn’t retaining anything. There was too many POVs right off the bat, I ended up so lost! I had to focus really hard when I restarted the book and still took about 40% in before I could personally tell each POV apart. I also had to read along with the audio version to help me
