I really liked the structure of this book, but unfortunately this poetry felt very simplistic. I love simple poetry books with deeper meaning, but this one kind of missed the mark. There are definitely some of the pieces that did resonate with me, but some didn’t. (Which is normal when reading a poetry book) I kinda found myself just trying to rush through it. I think that this will definitely hit different for every individual as poetry does, so maybe give it a shot if it peeked your interest!

Gosh. I wish I had this book when I was 17/18 and going off to college.

⭐️⭐️.75 maybe 3?? - I’m struggling with rating this one bc it wasn’t bad…. But it didn’t meet my expectations either. I’m very conflicted bc the story was engaging enough for me to push through, but it was one of those were every time I’d pick it back up, I’d forgot some of what I’d read the last session. It’s a sweet read, but I struggled to connect with it - maybe it’s me, I’m the problem?

This is book 3 of the magnolia falls ranch series and I wanted to love it like I loved and adored the first two.
The story line was still enjoyable but definitely has more potential. It’s felt a bit rushed. While I loved the characters bc I LOVE everyone at the MFR… it just didn’t give the energy I expected it to. It felt like somehow it just missed the mark. It was interesting enough for me to finish, but it was never something I was excited to pick back up.
Of course I enjoy how all the books intertwine and watching the characters develop, and that maybe what drove to me to finish. As a whole the series is wonderful and I raved about books 1 & 2, but sadly book 3 just didn’t do it for me. Again, interesting enough for me to finish, but nothing special.

This is Vol 2 of Bruised & Battered. I stumbled upon Vol 1 in early 2023 and picked it up because as a professional in this field (child abuse, sexual assault/abuse & domestic violence) from time to time I read books on this topic as it’s truly my passion.
