A fun little story of Locke's past. Not much to it, but it was very satisfying spending time with Locke again. I liked how the ending wasn't what I was expecting.
It made me want to re-read the other Gentlemen Bastards books again

This was not the book that I was expecting it to be from the title and what I'd heard people say about it. But once I reframed this in my head as a book about burnout, I got a lot more out of it.

It does undermine its message a little in the way that the majority of the examples are about people who are clearly overworked and how much it focuses on how they deserve rest. But you don't need to be overworked to deserve rest. That IS what the author was saying, but the examples weren't as varied as I was expecting. Also, a lot of the advice was only relevant to people with a fair amount of privilege (which it did admit).

But I can see how this book will appeal to and benefit its target market (which turned out not to be me)

This was super weird. Of course it was.
I loved it but I couldn't tell you why or what happened 😅

This starts out framed as a report and I was enjoying the extra information about this world, and then it snuck into exploring certain relationships that ended up making me cry. Unexpected! But why would I not expect constant surprises from Tamsyn Muir at this point?

I love this series. This book was so fun and so smart.
The plot has a lot going on and it's so entertaining, while also sneaking in plenty of lessons in a light-handed way :)

Oh! Something finally happened in this series that I was interested in!
I hope it will maintain the momentum.

Very impressed that this was able to make me like such an unlikeable character and thoroughly trick me in such a small number of pages.

I loved the history of the gods in this world and how that all worked out by the end of the story.

But... I didn't enjoy the characters in this book. The MC felt very empty, and I didn't feel like I had gotten to know her as a person at all. The romance seemed to come out of nowhere and was quite cringe to me. The ending was somewhat confusing, even if I did like it once I figured out what was happening.

A very satisfying ending to the series.
It started with some creepy and devastating AI moments, then ended with a feeling of triumph. I loved it. A great balance of action and emotional moments.
