The last four pages were great and the very last line actually gave me chills.
Otherwise it was boring and the main character rly got on my nerves.

Some of the plotlines feel needlessly convoluted, unnecessary or rely on convenient misunderstandings, which is a trope I really don't like. Barely anything that happened managed to surprise me.
Apart from that I had a lot of fun with this novel! Ruth Ware writes such engaging stories.

Picked this up at random at a train station when I had nothing else to read and I just can't get myself to care about serial killers and police investigations. Not the book's fault.

The writing in this novel flows so beautifully and effortlessly. And I enjoyed the feeling of there being more going on that I didn't know about, that I could never fully grasp the whole picture of what was going on until the very last pages.
I wish the characters had a bit more depth, though, I felt disconnected to them throughout the whole story.

That was amazing. Probably more of a 4.5.
The Twisted Ones (especially the first 200 pages or so) was scary to me personally as it played with all of my childhood fears. Some scenes really got under my skin.
Mouse was a great narrator for this story, I adored her perspective and the tone she brought to this story. Definitely one of my new favorite main characters in Horror!
Also appreciated that the author let us know in the very first chapter that the dog would survive lmao. Loved this!

Of all the Agatha Christie novels this could've been based on, why that one? It didn't work. None of the plot twists worked for me.
There were side plots that didn't lead anywhere, time that I wish would've been used to explore the family history and introduce a certain character earlier on. This wasn't as weird as I was hoping it would be, all of the 'weird' and spooky moments felt rushed and thrown to the side as soon as they were over.
2 stars because I liked the ending and the core ideas.
