cried over this book, the first in years. i love the characters, like it really felt like i know them personally. i feel like the author could've delved so much more into the current political landscape of the philippines but we're seeing everything in the eyes of a filipino-american, one that hasn't gone back to the country in a long time so i guess it still works. and it's actually a good primer for non-filipinos about our culture, and the current administration (which fucking sucks btw).
easily one of my best and fave reads this year, i really recommend everyone to check this out!

really, really, really cute. just what i needed to start off my weekend. it's light, but it's also really realistic. i found that i had the same thoughts that charlie had while he was still unsure about his crush on nick. i'm just sad that volume 2 isn't available in my local bookstore yet. will probably re-read this when i have my hands on the sequel!

felt like i was misled because this was shelved under horror/thriller when it wasn’t that at all. would’ve been a good mystery as well but the story was really predictable and the writing was just alright.
