Stark presents a vastly different view compared to the common narrative of the Crusades. I would recommend that any person read this: Christian, Muslim, or one just interested in history. The main thesis is that the Crusades were not unprovoked, and that the common suggested motives for the crusaders (wealth, hatred, etc.) are not historical or sensical.
