I could not put this book down to the point that i finished the entire novel in one day.

T.J. Klune managed something amazing in this book. I adored each and every character, even ones who end up preventing the development of the relationship of the main two characters (Ox and Joe). Even though each character is presented likeably they still have their own depth and unique tendencies/ personalities.

Although i feel some characters' 'coming outs' should have been more highlighted, I am also somewhat glad they were not; as this is not a story of being lgbt+ and the struggles that come along with it- its a story of responisbility, dealing with abuse, growing up, and that family is something you can choose and can have nothing to do with blood. In a way it is freeing for sexuality to be so normalised and diverse in this series.

Please please please do not be put off reading this book due to the werewolf/fantasy plot line, this book deals with so much more than that to the point the magic in this world is somewhat an add on instead of the main focus.

I would not class this as YA and think you should be 16+ to read-due to some of the ending scenes but even these were written beautifully.

This whole novel was a masterpiece

Circus setting? MLM? Found family? Opposites attract? Little angst?

What is not to love?

(Spoiler free ARC review.) 4.5

I always find Duckie's work to include the sweetest and most wholesome relationships without fail. They are fast-paced romances which I understand isn't for everyone but I would still always recommend as I used to think they weren't for me and here I am: obsessed. Especially this masterpiece of a book. It pulls you in straight away and keeps you in with its magic and incredible scenes. The chemistry between the two main characters also really came through. The spicy scenes are also done in such a loving, non-cringey, or forced way which I think is rare in many modern books, especially amongst mlm.

In brief, I really loved the setting of this book and the pure unbridled wholesomeness of the relationship. I think these two things are such strengths of this author that are even unmatched by some of the most popular authors.
